Musicians on Call Gala Honoring Tom Poleman

Musicians on Call is a nonprofit organization (established 1999) that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities.  They use music to promote and complement the healing process for patients, families, and caregivers.  We were asked to design their gala, which was held on November 12th, 2013 at Gotham Hall.  The gala honored Tom Poleman, co-Chair of Musicians on Call and President of National Programming Platforms for Clear Channel Media. It was an evening celebrating Tom’s commitment to Musicians on Call hosted by Elvis Duran with live performances by Paramore and Gavin Degraw.

We wanted to create an overall feel that was lush and beautiful, but with masculine undertones.  The colors were rich and bold, using tones of aubergine and deep reds.  The foundation was composed of deep greens using an abundance of ivy and other accompanying foliage. Flowers used were blue vanda orchids, black magic and bacarra red roses, black/red tulips, deep purple/red artichokes (which were massive, I might add), calla lilies, privet berry and blue anenomes.  Flowers were designed in clusters incorporating depth and texture with subtle flares of whimsical flower dustings.  Distressed, bronze, votives complimented each composition along with an abundance of varied candlelight set throughout the space.

Below is our inspiration board along with some photos from the evening.
