On the Road with the Rolling Stones

I was going through my photos the other day and realized that I never shared this experience.

MAC Presents brokered a deal with Citi and the Rolling Stones for the exclusive presale and official sponsorship of the “50 and Counting” tour that kicked off back in April.  We were hired to conceptualize and build-out a private lounge to host Citi VIP's and Rolling Stones’ friends and family.  We sought out one of our dear friends - and a top interior builder and designer - Josh Farley of WRKDesign  and created a sexy and incredibly awesome room that toured with the band for two months.  A ton of blood and sweat went in to this room, but no tears.

The concept ultimately chosen out of three different submissions was “ Glam Rock.”  The room incorporated the lavishness of rock and roll at it’s “sexiest."  To accomplish this we used rich and luxurious elements that were bold yet simple. The overall feel was one of “vintage-rock-glam” and incorporated loud, masculine elements of gloss and chrome, with accents of metallic and extravagance.  The space incorporated all things “Glam” but with  a modern and industrial swagger.  Walls held  oversized beat-in, vintage American and Union Jack flags and side tables held curated photo books documenting the Stones' history as well as other antique artifacts representing the time.

Each market gave us another challenge with different footprints to transform but we made it work, and we made it work well.

Below is our inspiration and detail story boards that inspired us with the concept, and a few photos of the actual lounges we created on tour.

Me after a long, long day.  I ain't no roadie, that's for sure.
